Purging
Purging helps you maintain optimal system performance by periodically cleaning up database tables that accumulate large amounts of data over time — including Audit Logs, User Session History, Workflow Requests, and Notification History. Without regular purging, database growth can slow down queries, increase storage costs, and degrade overall platform responsiveness. You create a Purge Policy to define how long data should be retained and a Purge Schedule to automate the cleanup process. Purged records are archived and available for download, so you don't lose historical data permanently.
- Only a System Administrator can set a purge policy and schedule.
- An Admin can only edit the purge policy at Tenant level and view the purge schedule.
- An Admin can view and download the archives.
You can purge the following data tables:
- Audit Logs
- User Session History
- Workflow Requests
- Notification History
In the chapter, you will learn about how to create a purge policy and schedule the purging activity.
