About the System Admin user's guide

The System Admin user's guide provides comprehensive information about the AutomationEdge (AE) server.The guide provides information for users with the System Administrator role. 

In addition, for understanding the AE UI application, various AE roles, and how to use the application to manage robotic process automation, see the AutomationEdge User's guide.

Intended audience

The guide is useful for users who have the System Administrator role and are using the AutomationEdge server.

Document organization

The guide contains several chapters. Each chapter includes topics that are divided into three sections:

  • Overview: provides the outline of the task.

  • Procedure: provides the instructions to perform the required tasks.

About AutomationEdge Server

The AutomationEdge (AE) platform has three major components: Process Studio, Agent, and Server.

AutomationEdge is an automation platform for Digital initiatives in a company. AutomationEdge helps in Robotic business process automation, IT automation, Rapid API integrations, Chatbot Automation, and so on.

The AutomationEdge Server is an AI-driven, intelligent RPA server that allows you to deploy your business process solutions, specifically workflows. The server can be hosted either on-premise or on the cloud, depending on your needs and preferences. AutomationEdge gives you freedom from repetitive work, time saving, and so on. 

The system administrator can perform multiple tasks like creating the Tenant, enable disable the workflow, upload the plugins and artifacts and so on.

AutomationEdge post-installation activities

After installing AE server, you need to complete the following post-installation activities: 

  • Log on as System Administrator (sysadmin). For details, see Login to AutomationEdge(#_Login to AutomationEdge). 

  • For the first logon it is mandatory to change your password for security reasons.For details see Change Password(#_Change Password on First Login:)

    • In addition, for more security you can set security questions. For details, see Set Security Questions(#_Set Security Questions). 

  • After changing the password:

    • Setup Server URL and Cleanup Requests, see Setup Server URL and Cleanup Requests (#_Setup Server URL and Cleanup Requests) 

    • Create a new Tenant. For details, see Add New Tenant(#_Add New).  

    • Create a new user with the Admin role. For details, see Add new User (#_Add new User)

    • Upload Process Studio zip as an artifact, see Upload Artifact: Process Studio(#_Upload Artifact: Process Studio)
