About this guide
Disaster recovery setup requires deployment of two AE setups. One is called Primary site and the other is called Secondary or DR site. In normal scenarios the Primary site is operational. All the persistent data from primary site is replicated to the Secondary site in near real time. When the Primary server goes down following a natural or human-induced disaster, the secondary server, which already has up-to-date data, is started and serves as the main server. Once the incident on the Primary server is resolved, the latest data backup from Secondary server is restored on Primary server, the Secondary server is stopped, and Primary server is started again. AE provides DR by having Primary and Secondary servers deployed at two different data centers. The topic describes the configuration, switchover to and switch back from the DR sites, for continuity of service and to avoid loss of data.
